What is Refreshing?

Refreshing, or pull refreshing, is the ability for you to re-pull information from past prospects. This allows you to proactively reach to prospects for events such as:

  • Renewals

  • Market Changes

  • Life Changes

Refreshing Pricing

Refreshing is included in all plan packages, with the exception of Legacy plans. Enabling the pull refreshing capability is free. Refreshed pulls count towards the total pulls included in your package.

You can choose to refresh your customer’s information at a monthly interval of your choice for either specific pulls or choose to enable refreshes for all pulls moving forward.

If you enable automatic refresh for all future pulls (on the Settings page), each pull will be refreshed monthly (or at your preferred frequency), and the costs could accumulate.

If you manually enable a pull refresh, it will not immediately trigger. Instead, it will wait for the interval specified on the Settings page (monthly by default). The refresh will occur based on the date you enabled it (for example, if you enable it today, it will refresh in one month).

If you do not want the pull to refresh again in the future, you will need to disable the refresh at a later date.

How do I use Refreshing?

How to refresh a Single Pull:

  1. Navigate to the Submissions page of your Dashboard and find the pull you would like to refresh.

  2. Click the '...' icon on the right-hand side of the pull tab and select 'Enable Refresh'.

  3. The pull will automatically refresh after the specified interval has passed from when the pull was originally made. (EX: If you enable refreshing on a pull today done today and you have a 1 month interval, it will refresh one month from today.)

Identifying Refreshing Pulls vs. Normal Pulls:

If has refreshing enabled, it will display the clock icon next to it.

If it does not have refreshing enabled, it will display the dot icon.

Viewing Refreshed/Previous Pulls:

Navigate to the Submissions tab in the left side menu then click on the refreshed pull marked with the clock icon. This pull will display all the refreshed data.

When you click on a refreshed pull, you'll be able to navigate between the refreshed pull and the original pull to see the differences in the policy data, if applicable. To view the old pull click the arrows at the top of the pull.

How do I disable refreshing on a pull?

Disabling Refreshing on a Single Pull:

You can disable refreshing on a single pull by navigating to the Submissions page and clicking the '...' icon on the right of the pull. Select Disable Refresh from the drop down.

Disabling Refreshing for All Pulls:

You can use the select all checkbox to Disable Refresh for all pulls on a page. Navigate to the Submissions page and check off the Select All checkbox. Click the '...' icon on the right and select Disable Refresh. This will disable all refreshes for pull son this page. You will need to repeat the process for each page of your dashboard.

More Settings:

Enable Refreshing for All New Pulls:

Click on Settings in the Left side menu. Select the Refreshing tab. Click 'Enable Refresh on all New Pulls', then click 'Save'.

Change the Data Refresh Interval:

Change how often data is refreshed by using the interval option. You can choose a monthly value between 1-12.

Refreshing FAQ:

When will this feature be available? Why can't I enable refreshes on my dashboard yet?

Refreshing is available for all of our non-legacy plans. If you are unable refresh pulls in your dashboard, please reach out to our support team either via live chat or by email at support@usecanopy.com.

How far back can we enable refreshes for?

You can enable refreshes starting from May 20, 2023.

Why isn’t refresh available for certain carriers?

Initially, we are launching with a subset of the most common carriers. However, we plan to expand this capability in the future.

How does this work with our integrations?

For integrations that we build on our end, we will not send the information to the rater. You can manually trigger pushes to the rater as usual by clicking the 'Submit To' button in the submission information tab.

What is the date interval I can select for my refresh frequency?

You can select any monthly frequency rate, up to 12 months.

How do I know when a Refreshed Pull is ready to view?

You will receive an email notification informing you that a submission is ready to view, similar to the notifications you currently receive for original pulls.

I clicked Enable Refresh on a pull, but it has not updated. Why?

If a pull was initially done within (default is 1 month but it may be changed in your settings), the pull will wait until the frequency date to update the pull. If the pull was done outside of the chosen pull frequency, it will pull immediately.

Can a pull be refreshed immediately?

Not at this time, but it is on the roadmap for the future. Refreshed pulls will follow the process in the above question.

Will archived submissions still refresh in the future?

Refreshing doesn't currently check whether a pull is archived. Before archiving the pull, you would need to click the more actions button (the ... button on the right-hand side of the submission) and click "Disable Refresh" to stop it from refreshing while archived. If the pull is already archived, you can still disable the refresh by selecting the Archive option from the Pull Status drop down to locate the pull.

If the 'Enable Refresh on all New Pulls' setting is disabled and I didn't trigger a manual refresh on any pulls, why did I receive a refreshed pull?

If the 'Enable Refresh on all New Pulls' has been enabled and then later disabled, you will still receive refreshed pulls for the submissions that were successful while that setting is enabled. Turning off this setting will not remove the refresh for those submissions; it will only prevent new submissions from being monitored.

For the submissions that came in while the setting was turned on, you can disable them by clicking the '...' icon and selecting 'Disable Refresh' if you don't want those to refresh.
