Privacy Policy
Canopy Connect is committed to protecting your personal information. The Privacy Policy describes what information is collected, how it is used, and how it is protected. Last updated August 12, 2025, here is a summary of the key areas covered:
What Information Is Collected Canopy Connect collects information in several ways, including directly from you, from your insurance providers, and from your devices. This may include personally identifiable information (such as your name, address, and phone number), insurance policy details (such as policy numbers, coverage limits, and declarations pages), authentication credentials used to connect your insurance accounts, and technical device information such as IP address and operating system. Cookies and similar tracking technologies may also be used to collect information about how you use the Services.
How Your Information Is Used Your information is used to operate and improve the platform, verify your identity, provide customer support, protect against fraud, and comply with legal obligations. Canopy Connect does not sell your personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
How Your Information Is Shared Your insurance information may be shared with the Innovator (such as your insurance agent or agency) whose application you are using, as well as with service providers who assist in delivering the Services. These parties are subject to contractual restrictions on how they may use your data. Information may also be disclosed if required by law or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition.
Your Privacy Rights Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what data has been collected, the right to request deletion, and the right to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. California residents can submit requests by emailing hello@usecanopy.com or calling 707-789-1110. Nevada residents have the right to opt out of the sale of personal information, though Canopy Connect does not currently sell personal information as defined under Nevada law.
Data Retention & Security Canopy Connect retains your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law. Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are in place to protect your data from unauthorized access or disclosure.
Changes to the Privacy Policy Canopy Connect may update the Privacy Policy at any time. Continued use of the Services after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Innovator Terms of Service
The Innovator Terms of Service govern the relationship between Canopy Connect and the businesses and agents (Innovators) who use the platform to collect and manage insurance information on behalf of their customers. Last updated August 12, 2025, these terms cover the following key areas:
What Canopy Connect Provides The platform gives Innovators access to end user insurance information — including policy details, coverage limits, declarations pages, driving records, and more — sourced from end users, insurance providers, or licensed third-party data providers. Innovators can use this information solely to provide services or products to the end user as requested by that end user.
Your Account & Responsibilities Innovators must maintain an accurate and up-to-date Canopy Connect account profile. If you discover any unauthorized use or breach of insurance information, you must notify Canopy Connect within 72 hours and cooperate in any resulting investigation.
Authorization By agreeing to these Terms, you authorize Canopy Connect to interact with end users and insurance providers on your behalf — connecting your account, retrieving insurance information, and facilitating any requested policy changes. If you wish to withdraw this authorization for a specific insurance provider, contact legal@usecanopy.com.
Your Relationships with End Users Your relationship with any end user is separate from your relationship with Canopy Connect. You must provide end users with your privacy policy before receiving their insurance information, and you may only use that information for the purpose for which it was shared.
Data Use Restrictions Licensed third-party data may only be used for specific permitted purposes such as application pre-fill, lead scoring, market segmentation, and identity verification. It may not be used for credit decisions, employment screening, tenant screening, insurance underwriting, or any purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
Security Requirements Innovators are required to maintain a comprehensive information security program with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the security and confidentiality of insurance information. Canopy Connect may conduct compliance audits with advance notice, up to once per year.

End User Terms of Service
The End User Terms of Service govern the relationship between Canopy Connect and insurance prospects (End Users) who use the platform to share their insurance information. Last updated August 12, 2025, these terms cover the following key areas:
What Canopy Connect Does The platform allows End Users to connect with their insurance providers, retrieve their insurance information, and share it with the agents or businesses (Innovators) they choose to work with. It also enables users to monitor and make changes to their existing policies through those connections.
Your Authorization By using the platform, you authorize Canopy Connect to access your insurance information on your behalf, share it with your selected Innovator, and enable that Innovator to request policy updates as directed by you. You can withdraw this authorization at any time by contacting legal@usecanopy.com.
Your Relationships with Innovators Your relationship with any Innovator — such as an insurance agent or agency — is separate from your relationship with Canopy Connect. How an Innovator uses your information is governed by their own terms and privacy policy, which you should review before connecting with them through the platform.
Your Data & Ownership You retain ownership of your insurance information. By using the platform, you grant Canopy Connect a license to use and share that information solely for the purpose of providing you with the Services, as outlined in the Privacy Policy.
Restrictions on Use Users may not reverse engineer, copy, or disrupt the platform, use it on behalf of third parties, or use it for any unlawful purpose. The platform is intended for users over the age of 18.
